Life after Harmonie

This part of the web site is devoted to Roger and Sue Biddle's lives since selling Harmonie and living ashore. You can discover our travels without Harmonie here and our barging with Harmonie here.
Since ceasing to live permanently aboard Harmonie we have lived in Bradley Stoke near Bristol, Bridgnorth in Shropshire and Cheltenham in Gloucestershire. In November 2018 we moved to Tauranga in New Zealand and shortly after Sue was diagnosed with Cancer. Sue died of the disease in May 2020 and just before I had been diagnosed with Myeloma, a type of incurable blood cancer and underwent my first chemotherapy. My chemo concluded in December 2020 and by May 2021 the covid-19 epidemic in the UK was under control and I returned home.
My chemo continued in the UK and results are recorded in this section.
Before Sue died we discussed an idea I had to raise funds for a cancer charity in her memory and she approved of being remembered in this way. I returned home to South Petherton in Somerset, England on May 5th 2021 and commenced to organise a sponsored walk of the 102 mile length of the long distance Macmillan Way West long distance trail to raise funds for the Macmillan Cancer Charity in memory of Sue in 2022. You can see how we did here. We raised £5436 for Macmillan.
I have also recorded my life from leaving school in Somerset in 1956 to meeting Sue in Australia in 1974 which you can find under Family History on the main menu. The lives of Sue and myself since we met in Melbourne, Australia in 1974 as well as our subsequent lives in Scotland and England before purchasing Harmonie when we retired you can find in this sections pages. Other pages detailing some of our family history, caving songs, favourite poems and music are also in the main menu as is my current web log.
