Edward William Biddle

Grandad Biddle was born in Birmingham, England in 1883. I called him "Edbin" and we used to visit him and Grandma regularly walking over Hodgehill Common to where they lived. They had a big wind up gramophone in their front room and a big collection of 78rpm records which I used to play. They were mostly light classical and I can still remember pieces like "The Flight of the Gladiators" and various operatic arias from the likes of Figaro which Dad used to sing whilst shaving.
Tedbin was a cabinet maker and married Alice Costello in 1907. He died in 1952.
